We are standing on the shoulders of superheroes.
How much would you pay NOW to help inspire young voters - in an election that has a decade worth of consequences? Here's what we know: Young people are most likely to vote Democrat - and sadly the most likely not to vote. In fact, Republicans like Captain Susana Lockstep are working hard to suppress the Democrat and the youth vote. We have to fight back.
We're standing on the shoulders of too many superheroes, and there's too much at stake to let Republicans silence us.
Just six decades ago, Miguel Trujillo, from right here in Isleta Pueblo and a Marine veteran, won the right to vote for Native Americans.
Just five decades ago, James Chaney, Michael Schwerner, Andy Goodman, Emmit Till, Medgar Evers, Addie Mae Collins (14 years old), Denise McNair (11 years old), Carole Robertson (14 years old), and Cynthia Wesley (14 years old) and countless others gave their lives for the right to vote in the Civil Rights Movement.
And just two decades ago, in 1990, Nelson Mandela emerged from 27 years in jail because he fought for the simple right to vote.
By voting, we honor all the superheroes who fought before us, and in some cases lost their lives, to ensure that our voice could be heard.
It's your turn to be a superhero. What are you willing to give to help inspire young voters to get to the polls - to help ensure that Democrats and young people are not silenced?
